Communications Professional Paul Allen Marks 35 Years in Communications and Public Affairs, Celebrating a Career at the Front Row of Politics, Media and Global Affairs.

One of Ireland’s most experienced communications and public affairs professionals, Paul Allen, is celebrating 35 years in the “Spin City” world of communications, media and public affairs, reflecting on a career that has placed him at the front row of many of the defining political and business moments of recent decades.
Allen, founder of Paul Allen & Associates PR, marked the milestone alongside friends, clients and colleagues, including two internationally recognised podcast hosts, political commentators and pals Anthony Scaramucci and Alastair Campbell.
The pair, co-hosts of the globally successful political podcast The Rest Is Politics US, were among the early pioneers of political podcasting, a format that many initially believed would struggle to build a mainstream audience.
Reflecting on the milestone, Allen said the greatest privilege of working in communications has been the opportunity to observe history unfolding while working with great people who help interpret it.
“One of the great privileges of spending 35 years in the Spin City world of global communications and public affairs is occasionally finding yourself sitting in the front row of history and in the company of people who help make sense of it and become great life-long pals and in my case associates”
Allen noted that his very long-standing friendships with Scaramucci and Campbell have been shaped not just by politics and media, but by curiosity and a shared appetite for debate and learning.
“I am very fortunate, if I may say to know two of the greatest living podcaster pals, Anthony Scaramucci and Alastair Campbell. We were there on day one when many thought podcasts would never grow an audience and never work.”
He went on to say: “Thank you both along with clients and friends for helping me celebrate 35 years in business. It’s always a laugh, always a very sharp insight, and I inevitably leave the conversation with another great book recommendation to read and learn a little more about life, business and how to continue delivering results for clients in a changing world.”
Over the past three and a half decades, Allen has advised organisations across aviation, infrastructure, technology, healthcare, property, and public policy, building a reputation for strategic communications, crisis management and public affairs.
The anniversary serves as a reminder, Allen says, that the intersection of politics, media and global affairs remains one of the most dynamic arenas in modern life.
“Good friends, great conversations, and a reminder that the world of politics, media and geopolitics and day to day communications is never dull. Here’s to continued friendship, curiosity, and the occasional giggle along the way.
