Political paranoia isn’t just UKs Westminster condition it’s a newsroom asset.

Political paranoia isn’t just UKs Westminster condition it’s a newsroom asset.

Look at how the BBC is inflating a routine disagreement between PM Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting into a full-blown leadership psychodrama.

Another week of drama about two guys rowing. Another classic moment in media.

It’s another minor wobble becomes a major “what if?” simply because it fits the narrative machine. Sections of the media don’t just report paranoia; they manufacture it. Have a look at any weeks news.

And while all this speculative theatre rolls on, the real global story Gaza slips down the running order. A humanitarian crisis overshadowed by hypothetical Westminster plotlines.

BBC also seem to forget about its apology to US president over a mistake and pushes that too down the news agenda. However the clock ticks.

Sometimes the real spin doctors aren’t in political party HQs at all.

They sit in global broadcast suites, deciding which paranoia to pump into the bloodstream next.
